![]() ![]() What began as a childhood passtime evolved into
a full blown musical force.
As kids Chris Patterson and Cody Goains would
entertain the neighborhood with their two guitar
alter egos "Bob and Ed".
Not really knowing how to play at all.
Near the age of 18 the two had founded seperate
bands in which neither band had a future.
After a falling out in Cody's band and a total
lack of participation in Chris's Band ,Cup's (Codys old band)
bass player the late Tom Hummer, brought Chris and Cody
back together with Cody switching to the BASS.
And bringing Josh Stephenson into the picture on drums.
Tom stayed on as singer for the group.
Yet agian a fallout would lower them to three members,
as Tom left the band because of stylistic differences.
This forced Chris to try his hand at singing.
Gaining a little steam and going through a number of name
changes, the original POWERFUL STUFF was born.
Chris,Cody & Josh began forging a unique blend of
BLUES & ROCK N' ROLL
After 3 years of rockin they decided to expand the lineup
by adding guitarist Damon Cobb,a comanding guitarist
in his own right. This new sound was good but somthing
was lost as the trio was now a Rock foursome.
After 2 years Damon parted ways with the band (on good terms)
and the trio returned to it's natural state.
As more time went by Josh seemingly lost interest,
as he dealt with personal issues.
He left the band to pursue other goals in life.
It was a rocky time, for the band and for friendships in the band.
After brief hiatis Chris and Cody were at it agian.
This time trying a couple drumers until finding
Mark Kozora to take the drumming duties for the band full time.
C&C wanted someone good, because Josh Stephenson
left his mark as a true drumming force with the band, they needed someone
who was able to not only hang with them but also able to bring
their own fire to the POWERFUL STUFF mix.
After only a couple weeks Mark Kazora was a sure thing,as he
employed the same no holds barred attitude that C&C had.
You Can catch CHRIS,CODY & MARK
all around central Texas all year around.
Powerful Stuff hopes the Mean Rhythm album will be
released soon .
This Website and bands music is dedicated to the
memory of the late Powerful Stuff members
